KNIT SCAN is an optical fabric scanner used on circular knitting machines to detect defects while the fabric is being produced. It works without touching the fabric, using reflected light to scan the knitted surface, and can identify faults such as broken needles or holes after knitting. When a defect is detected, the system can automatically stop the machine, helping prevent large quantities of defective fabric from being produced.
KNIT SCAN detects defects immediately during production, preventing large lengths of defective fabric from being produced. This reduces waste, rework and unnecessary downtime.
Because monitoring is continuous and automatic, the system maintains a consistent inspection standard, accurately identifying faults such as holes or defective lines and ensuring more reliable finished fabric.
Provides real-time control of the production process. When a defect is identified, it can automatically stop the machine, allowing the operator to take immediate action before the problem becomes worse.
